    Mardi Gras Ball

    Come out and join us for this years 2011 Mardi Gras Ball presented by The Student Govenment Association March 3, 2011! It will be located in the SUB Ballroom atop the Student Union Building for 9pm to 1am. Students, Faculty, & Staff will be free of charge with there campus wide ID cards. A student guest will be $5 and a faculty or staff guest will be $10. You can pick up and purchase your tickets for this event for the SGA located in the Student Center of The Student Union Building on ULM's campus. Food, drinks, cash bar, and court/royalty presentaions will be just be part of the festivites. Be sure to get your tickets and mark your calenders for this event!


     

    Presidential Lyceum Series

    Dan Rather, who has circled the globe reporting on some of the most significant events of our time, will speak on “What I’ve Learned from a Lifetime of Reporting,” at 7 p.m., April 19, 2011, in Brown Auditorium, as part of the University of Louisiana at Monroe’s Presidential Lyceum Series. ULM's Presidential Lyceum Series began in 2003 under the direction of former President James E. Cofer Sr., to promote intellectual exchange among ULM students, faculty, staff and the community. Past Lyceum speakers have included journalist and Pulitzer prize winning author Thomas Friedman; broadcast journalist Lisa Ling; political strategists James Carville and Mary Matalin; businessman and entrepreneur Steve Forbes; comedian and television personality Ben Stein; laywer and social activist Robert Kennedy Jr.; author/historian and Pulitzer Prize winner Doris Kearns Goodwin; and film/TV star and comedian Bill Cosby.
